Who runs this project

Leave a Plan is an early-stage planning project run by Mike Bebjak.

Assessment answers

We do not send your individual answers, scores, or suggested priorities to our database. Refreshing or closing the assessment clears its answers. If you print or save your results, you control that copy and where it is stored.

We do not ask for names of beneficiaries, account numbers, passwords, estate documents, or medical details. Please keep those out of any feedback you share.

Basic usage information

To understand whether the assessment is useful, we record when an assessment starts or is completed, which audience option is selected, selected button clicks, and successful email signups. Each assessment visit has a randomly generated session identifier, and events have timestamps.

These event records contain no email address, individual answers, or scores. The identifier lets us group events within a visit; it is not a name or a persistent cross-visit identifier. We do not use advertising trackers or set marketing cookies in the assessment application.

Optional email signup

If you explicitly opt in, we store your email address, any optional comment you submit, audience choice, signup date, and the version of the consent statement you accepted. Assessment answers, scores, and suggested priorities are not submitted with signup and are not stored in our database. Optional comments are saved with your email so we can review and respond to your feedback; comments are not anonymous. Please do not copy your assessment answers or sensitive details into the comment box. If you submit another comment using the same email address, it replaces your previous signup comment. We use it for Leave a Plan updates and invitations to give feedback. Signup is optional and does not affect access to your results.

Automated email delivery is not currently enabled. Future project emails will include a way to unsubscribe. We do not sell the signup list.

Hosting and service providers

The site and database are hosted through Cloudflare. Like other hosting services, Cloudflare may process technical request information such as IP addresses and security or diagnostic logs to deliver and protect the service. The application’s event table does not include an IP-address field. Hosting, processing, and backups may occur outside Canada.

Retention and your choices

At this early stage, signup and usage records remain stored until manually removed; an automatic retention schedule has not yet been configured. Refreshing the assessment clears local answers, but does not delete previously stored usage events or an email signup.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your signup information, or withdraw consent to future contact. We may need to verify that a request comes from the address concerned. We cannot identify your anonymous assessment events from an email address alone.
